Afraid I had to make an account just to be able to resolve the confusion in the above comments, albeit four years after it has probably ceased to be relevant... Mainly because to my mind the weirdest thing of all is that it appears that nobody has thought to consult with someone who, y'know, actually has a set of the bits in question and so might be expected to be able to remember the nature of their functionality at the stages of development in question ;)
Yes, it is entirely normal for male toddlers to experience morning wood. Or indeed any-other-time-of-day wood. There isn't any associated pleasure or desire to do anything with it; at that sort of age, it's just "one of those things that happens". It's generally nothing more than a side effect of needing the loo. Seems that the body is trying to enlist the aid of the mechanism which in later life prevents urination in inappropriate circumstances, even though that mechanism doesn't actually work yet and the only effect is an advantage when it comes to seeing how high you can piss up the wall.
Prepubescent male masturbation is also entirely normal. I remember doing it from about the age of 10, and friends were doing it about the same time. First orgasm was about age 12, but without ejaculation; that did not happen until age 15 or so, by which time growth of bits and of downstairs hair had also commenced but was not far advanced.
Anyway, congratulations on the multiple hilarious deconstructions of the writings of some very strange people :) ...and congratulations also on being, apparently, about the only author of such hilarity who acknowledges that when the characters and races concerned are the creation of authors with the religious sensibilities of Tolkien or Lewis, the desires and behaviours attributed to them are so fundamentally OOC as to elevate the exploding CAD from "handheld firecracker" to "weapon of mass destruction" :)
